Thanks to the pilots of the Szentes Flying Club, you can take part in a sightseeing flight. Marvel at the colourful world and lush greenery of our little town from above!
Flying in Szentes, rooted in the distant past and based on great traditions, was revived in 1990. The club’s main activity is gliding, alongside which there are opportunities for powered gliding, powered flight, hang gliding and model flying. The club also offers pilot training with experienced instructors, and you can obtain a pilot’s licence under favourable conditions. Szentes Airport is a private airfield located south of Szentes, alongside Main Road 45. Gliders are launched primarily using a winch, which is the cheapest way of taking off. We fly at weekends and on public holidays, but it is also possible to arrange a time for a sightseeing flight during the week. The surrounding towns of Csongrád, Hódmezővásárhely, Orosháza and Szeged are all within easy reach. Among the local attractions, the Körös estuary (Körös-torok) and the Ópusztaszer National Historical Memorial Park stand out, and viewing them from a height of 300 metres offers a unique experience.
